Team study rooms
If you cannot get into a reserved study room, please call 232 002 981 or during the patron services opening hours, contact a library staff member at the Main Services Desk on Floor Two.
Team study rooms, located on the 4th to 6th floors, are ideal for group projects, study and research, and are accessible during the library opening hours (the entire library). Online reservations are available at a discounted fee.
During the winter and summer semesters (September 15 – June 30), the team study rooms may be reserved by registered NTK users, who are:
- students, doctoral candidates, university faculty, and researchers from partner institutions (VŠCHT, ÚOCHB; ČVUT and ČZU from EU countries or with documented residency in the Czech Republic) who have a valid card from their institution (ISIC/student/employee card) registered in the NTK system.
During the summer period from July 1 to September 14, the team study rooms may also be used by:
- students, doctoral candidates, university faculty, and researchers from non-partner institutions, as well as members of the public from the EU or with documented residence in the Czech Republic.
- To reserve a Team Study Room, you must have sufficient funds in your NTK financial account.
- You can reserve a Team Study Room yourself through the online reservation system or with the help of a librarian at NTK Main Information desk.
- You will be able to access the Team Study Room using your patron card at the start of the reservation and for the duration of the rental. We ask that you comply with the Appendix 10: General Rules for the Use of Rentable Study Rooms and Classrooms.
- It is not allowed to take away or move equipment, technology, chairs, etc. in and out of the study rooms or otherwise manipulate the study room furnishings. The number of workstations is limited by the capacity of the given study room.
- One Patron can only have one active reservation at a time.
- The Patron who made the reservation must be present in the Team Study Room.
- Patrons confirm that they will not conduct commercial activities in the Team Study Room before paying for the reservation.
- Making reservations for the benefit of third parties is not allowed.
General Rules for the Use of Team Study Rooms
To ensure the comfort of all our patrons, the use of Team Study Rooms is governed by the Conditions of Use of the Integrated Library and the NTK House Rules.
Reservation Period
The minimum reservation period is one hour. You can make longer reservations, depending on your needs and availability of the team study rooms.
Who Can Reserve and the Cost
Patrons of eligible patron groups can reserve the team study rooms online at a discounted fee of 30 CZK/hour, depending on the period for which they are making the reservation (winter and summer semesters, or summer period). If you are unsure of your patron group, check your library account after logging in, or ask the librarians at the information desks on the 1st and 2nd floors.
Newly registered patrons and patrons with a newly registered ID chip card must wait one hour after the registration before reserving a study room (due to delays updating our library systems).
Commercial rentals are subject to the current price list, and reservations can be made through our Event and Conference Services team.

Making and Canceling a Reservation
Rentals can be made through the online Reservation system (see How to Reserve the Team Study Room) or with the assistance of librarians at the Information Desk on Floor 1 or 2 (during the Patron services hours). To rent the carrel you need to fit in one of the eligible User groups, have a valid NTK registration for the time of the rental, and a sufficient deposit on your NTK Financial account.
You can cancel your reservation yourself at any time through the online reservation system or in person at the Information desks on Floor 1 or 2 during the Patron services hours. You can cancel even during your reservation period (this will free up the space for others).
We will refund the fee charged for the reservation if you cancel the reservation more than 24 hours before its start.
Follow these instructions when making or canceling a reservation.
Equipment
Team Study Rooms No. 1–18 with the capacity of 8 to 10 workplaces as well as the smaller Team Study Rooms No. 28–29 with the capacity of 4 workplaces are intended primarily for team/group work, joint processing of assignments, etc. They are equipped with electrical and data network connections as well as flipcharts/magnetic whiteboards.
You can buy whiteboard markers and erasers in an office supply vending machine on the third floor (the machine only accepts coins).
